client: mikili

For our client Mikili, we designed a wall-mounted bicycle storage solution featuring a “hammock” made from leather that adapts to any bike frame shape and provides excellent frame protection. The bent steel structure supports the hammock and offers enough space inside to store a bike helmet. For prototyping, we started with a laser-cut version and later bent the steel material. The hammock is attached to the frame using custom CNC-machined screws made to our specifications, and we designed special framing for the leather to help it retain its shape.

Für unseren Kunden Mikili haben wir eine wandmontierte Fahrradaufbewahrung entworfen. Die Grundidee war, eine „Hängematte“ aus Leder zu schaffen, die sich flexibel an jede Fahrradrahmenform anpasst und den Rahmen optimal schützt. Eine gebogene Stahlkonstruktion trägt die Hängematte und bietet zudem genügend Platz, um einen Fahrradhelm darin zu verstauen. Für den Prototypen starteten wir mit einer gelaserten Version und fertigten das Material später aus gebogenem Stahl. Die Hängematte ist mit maßgefertigten CNC-Schrauben an der Konstruktion befestigt, und wir entwickelten eine spezielle Rahmenführung für das Leder, damit es seine Form behält.
